Speaker Profile
Oscar Abbink is a Director in IHS Energy’s Upstream Research Group in which he looks at the strategic implications of new technologies in the Upstream sector. He helps lead the Upstream Technology and Innovation (UTAI) Service and contributes the upstream technology perspective to other IHS services. Prior to joining IHS, Dr. Abbink was with TNO, a Research and Technology organization, where he was responsible for all Subsurface Oil & Gas activities, with a small E&P Oil Field Service company as Managing Director, and with Logica (now CGI) Business Consulting as Industry Leader Oil & Gas. Dr. Abbink holds an MSc and a Shell-sponsored PhD in Geosciences from Utrecht University (The Netherlands). His 20+ year background in the international Energy Sector includes work in nearly all areas of exploration and production and related domains.
