On behalf of the Merdeka Award Secretariat, we would like to invite you and your photographer to the 2017 Merdeka Award Announcement and Presentation Ceremony.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Merdeka Award. Launched by YAB Tun Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi on 2007, the Merdeka Award was established to recognise outstanding individuals and organisations whose works and achievements have contributed to the nation's growth and created significant impact for the people of Malaysia. 

We are pleased to announce that His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, the Sultan of Perak Darul Ridzuan and Royal Patron of the Merdeka Award Trust will grace the event and confer the prestigious award to exceptional recipients for their contribution through 5 award categories:

• Education & Community
• Environment
• Health, Science and Technology
• Outstanding Scholastic Achievement
• Outstanding Contribution to the People of Malaysia
