The Sabah basin, predominantly siliciclastic with presence of carbonates is subdivided into provinces that are characterized by distinct structural styles and sedimentation histories (Tan and Lamy, 1990; Hazebroek and Tan, 1993). Good quality reservoirs are formed by coastal to fluvio-marine and stacked shallow marine sandstones. In addition to fluvio-marine and shelf deposit, deep marine turbidities formed thick, high quality reservoirs. Carbonate reservoirs, although a minor component, have fair to excellent reservoir qualities. This paper presents results of a comprehensive well site mineralogical and elemental to build a geological framework.
